ABOUT THE LIBRARY

The Alma Mater Europaea University Library provides library services in support of teaching, scientific research, and professional activities.

The library is primarily intended to meet the information needs of students, academic staff, researchers, and university employees. Its core mission is to provide high-quality services, organize and provide access to various information resources, support learning and educational content, and contribute to the scientific research objectives of Alma Mater Europaea University.

The Dance Academy collection is housed at the library premises in Ljubljana.

In addition to the library, a reading room is available for individual study and group work.

The standard loan period is 21 days (exceptionally 14 or 7 days) and may be renewed through My Library, by email, by phone, or in person. Collection of reserved material on behalf of another person requires written authorization and a valid ID document.

Through interlibrary loan services, users may access materials from other Slovenian and international libraries. The library also lends its own materials to other libraries.

LIBRARY RULES

Membership

Membership is available to Alma Mater students and all academic and non-academic staff of the institution.

Opening Hours

Opening hours are published on the library website and displayed at the library entrance.

Borrowing Materials

Library materials may be borrowed for use in the reading room or at home upon presentation of a student card or a photo ID.

User Responsibility

Users must return borrowed materials in the same condition in which they were borrowed. Users are responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of library materials.

Loan Limits and Loan Period

A user may borrow a maximum of five items at one time. Materials must be returned by the due date. Overdue fines are charged according to the current price list.

Interlibrary Loan

If the library does not hold a specific item, it may be requested through interlibrary loan from Slovenian or foreign libraries. The service is intended for professional, educational, and study purposes.

Loans from Other Alma Mater Locations

If you would like to receive materials from another Alma Mater library location before the standard 14-day transfer period, postal delivery costs are charged according to the current price list.

Personal Property

Users are responsible for their personal belongings brought into the reading room or other library premises. The library assumes no responsibility for loss or theft.

Reading Room

Conduct Reading rooms are intended for quiet study and research. Smoking, eating, and drinking are prohibited, except for non-alcoholic beverages in sealed containers. Mobile phones may only be used in silent mode and without voice communication.

Computer Workstations

Library computers are intended exclusively for study and research activities.

Clearance Certificate

Before a graduation or doctoral completion certificate can be issued, students must obtain confirmation that all library obligations have been settled.

Compliance with Library Rules

Users who disturb order, violate library regulations, or disrupt other visitors or staff may be asked to leave the library.

Reminders

  • First reminder: EUR 3
  • Second reminder: EUR 6
  • Third reminder: EUR 10

Replacement of damaged, destroyed, or lost material

Market value of the item plus EUR 5 processing fee.

Interdepartmental Loan

Express transfer from another Alma Mater location: EUR 6.

Interlibrary Loan

  • Personal collection: Free
  • Book (1 item): EUR 9
  • Article (up to 20 pages): EUR 3

The Alma Mater Europaea University Library is responsible for maintaining and entering bibliographic records of researchers and employees of Alma Mater Europaea University, as well as researchers participating in Alma Mater Europaea University projects (for the duration of the project and for project-related publications).
