ARTS IN MOTION

Project duration: Academic year 2025/26, 2026/27

Project leader: Hungarian Dance University, Dr Anita Lanszki

Funding: National governments of the participating countries – Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Romania, and Serbia

Short project description

The Arts in Motion network, led by the Hungarian Dance University (HDU) within the CEEPUS programme, connects seven Central European institutions, including Alma Mater Europaea – Dance Academy, with the aim of promoting innovation and cooperation in the field of dance and performing arts.

It is the first major CEEPUS network dedicated exclusively to dance, enabling knowledge exchange, research, and mobility of students and teachers. The network focuses on diverse dance genres, including classical ballet, contemporary dance, folk dance, theatre dance, and commercial dance.

The emphasis is on interdisciplinary approaches that combine dance pedagogy, choreography, health-related aspects of dance, digital technologies, and historical research. In this way, the project strengthens internationalization and opens up opportunities for the development of joint study programmes. It also promotes the preservation of cultural heritage, the development of new artistic forms, and greater international visibility in the Central European region.

Activities

The project includes short-term mobility of students and teachers, workshops, guest lectures, and joint research projects.

Results

The Arts in Motion project will contribute to the increased internationalization of the Dance Academy and all participating partners, strengthen research and pedagogical cooperation, and support the development of new educational approaches.

The project will document and promote traditional and contemporary dance practices, contribute to the development of hybrid artistic forms, and strengthen the role of dance as an international language.

The results of mobility activities will be published and shared through institutional websites and social media. A digital collection of recorded lectures and workshops will also be created for further use in teaching and research.
