International cooperation
Since its foundation, AMEU – Dance Academy has placed strong emphasis on cooperation and partnership, both in Slovenia and internationally.
International activity
The academy is well aware that working with the artistic, professional, research and educational environment is the foundation for the high-quality development of its study programmes, research activity and artistic practice.
Every year it strives to involve more external experts — from professional practice and from partner educational institutions — in its teaching. This gives students contact with different artistic approaches, teaching methods and professional perspectives on dance, choreography, ballet and dance pedagogy.
Through international cooperation, Erasmus+ mobilities, inter-institutional partnerships and the involvement of renowned dance artists, the academy strengthens the quality of its studies, encourages intercultural dialogue and increases its visibility in the European and wider international arena.
Exchanges and partnerships
After taking over the independent higher education institution Dance Academy in Ljubljana in the 2015/2016 academic year, AMEU – Dance Academy strengthened its development and international orientation. It engaged renowned Slovenian and international artists and higher education teachers, developed the Ballet programme and re-accredited the Dance Academy at its locations in Maribor and Ljubljana.
In doing so it cooperates with leading international institutions, among them:
- the Hungarian Dance University in Budapest,
- the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg.
Its teaching and artistic work involves experts from Slovenia and a number of other countries — among them Croatia, the Netherlands, Israel, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, Italy and Ukraine.
