Dance Academy Showcase

The December Showcase is the semester production of the Dance Academy students and at the same time the examination assignment of the second and third years in the course Composition and the Creative Research Process, led by lecturers Rosana Hribar and Primož Ekart. The assignment takes as its starting point the poem “Siblings” by the Polish poet Krystyna Dąbrowska. The process called for an analysis of the text, and for recognising and developing a motif in dance composition and in a theatre event that respects the context and the emotional charge of the poem.
The evening also featured shorter choreographic sequences by first-year students, created within various courses covering dance technique, composition and partnering. The processes were led by Urša Rupnik, Lucija Velkavrh, Matevž Česen, Michal Rynia and Nastja Bremec Rynia, Kaja Lin Jagodič, Anja Möderndorfer and Tanja Skok.
