ERASMUS+

Mobility for staff

Erasmus+ co-finances teaching at partner higher education institutions and training abroad. Teaching and administrative staff of the Dance Academy may apply; applications are accepted until all places are filled or the available funds are used up.

About the programme

In the field of higher education, the Erasmus+ programme co-finances the mobility of lecturers and professional staff for the purpose of teaching, education or training at partner higher education institutions and at other relevant organisations and companies abroad. The funds are intended for both teaching and administrative staff.

Teaching

Staff mobility for teaching. Teaching or professional staff teach at a partner higher education institution abroad, in any field or academic discipline. The condition is a valid Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement between AMEU and the host institution.

Training

Staff mobility for training. Open to all employees for training at higher education institutions or other relevant organisations — educational events, Erasmus Staff Training Weeks and job shadowing.

For training, the host does not have to be a higher education institution: it can be any public or private organisation from a programme country that is active on the labour market or in the field of education, training and youth — a company, a public body at local, regional or national level, a research institute, a school, an institute or a training centre. If, however, you wish to train at a university, AMEU must have an inter-institutional agreement signed with it.

Where you can go. To European Union member states and to Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Türkiye, North Macedonia and Serbia. Mobility to other (partner) countries is possible by prior agreement. Mobility is not possible to the country of the sending institution (Slovenia) or to your country of residence.

Would you like to teach or train at an institution with which the Dance Academy has not yet signed an agreement? Write to erasmus@almamater.si — an agreement can often be concluded before the mobility takes place.

  • a broader understanding of educational practices, policies and systems in other countries
  • stronger competences related to your professional profile and improved foreign language skills
  • the transfer of new approaches into the modernisation of study programmes and the academy’s international cooperation
  • a better understanding of how formal and non-formal education connect with the labour market
  • higher quality of work for the benefit of students and stronger support for their mobility
  • a better understanding of social, linguistic and cultural diversity and more scope for meeting the needs of the disadvantaged
  • more opportunities for professional and career development and greater motivation in everyday work

Within the Erasmus+ programme, Alma Mater Europaea – Dance Academy ensures equal opportunities and the inclusion of all students, staff and other participants.

Call and grants

The call for the co-financing of staff mobility is published by the Dance Academy on the basis of its agreement with the national agency CMEPIUS and the funds awarded. There is no application deadline — applications are accepted until all places are filled or the available funds are used up.

  • Who may apply: staff employed at AMEU (fixed-term or permanent, full-time or part-time) and external collaborators working under a service or copyright contract.
  • Period: you may apply for mobilities that will be carried out in the current or the following academic year.
  • Duration: from 5 to 7 days, depending on the funds available.
  • Teaching load: at least 8 hours of teaching per week; for a shorter stay, in proportion to the length of the week.

The grant consists of travel support and individual support (a daily subsistence allowance). Part of the amount is paid out before the planned mobility and the remainder once it has been completed and you have submitted all the required supporting documents.

Travel support according to the distance between the seat of AMEU and the place where the activity is carried out. The amounts are per participant.

The distance band is determined with the European Commission’s distance calculator. You evidence your travel with tickets or other receipts showing the place of departure and the place of arrival; financial transfers must be transparent, traceable and verifiable.

Individual support (daily subsistence allowance) according to the host country. The number of days spent abroad is taken into account, where necessary also one additional day before the mobility and one after it. The table reproduces the official country-group scale from the call and applies to host countries.

The amounts stated apply up to the 14th day of the activity. From the 15th to the 60th day the daily allowance amounts to 70% of the figure in the table.

Mobility without an EU grant (zero grant) is also possible: the participant receives no funds for the period of the mobility but enjoys all the other benefits of the Erasmus+ programme. Participants with special needs may apply for the co-financing of additional costs incurred during the mobility. Each mobility is eligible for one single grant from the EU budget, which may not be used to generate a profit for the recipient.

How applications are assessed. Each candidate is granted one mobility per academic year; for it they must obtain the consent of the head of their department or office and justify the relevance of the mobility at individual, institutional and wider level. If more applications arrive on the same day than there are places or funds still available, two criteria are applied:

  1. First mobility (0–10 points). Candidates who have not yet taken part in a mobility receive 10 points, those who already have receive 0 points.
  2. Content of the application form (0–10 points). 10 points if the form contains all the elements — the purpose and justification of the mobility, the objectives, the added value, the content of the teaching or training and the expected results; 5 points if any of the elements is missing; 0 points if the form has not been submitted.

Application

Before applying, arrange the mobility within your department and with the host institution. All documents must be completed and signed before you travel abroad — by signing the application you undertake to observe the rules of the Erasmus+ programme and of the call.

01

Agreement within your department

Discuss the possibility of a mobility with the head of the study programme or the head of the office and obtain their consent. Complete the application form (the mobility relevance form) and send it to the International Office.

02

Contact with the host institution

Once your application has been submitted, agree the content and the dates of the mobility with the host institution.

03

Mobility Agreement

Next comes the preparation of the Mobility Agreement — Staff Mobility Agreement for Teaching for teaching and Staff Mobility Agreement for Training for training. It must state the purpose and justification of the mobility, the objectives, the added value and the expected results, and for teaching also the content of the teaching work. Draft forms are published by the European Commission.

04

Submission of the complete application

Submit the complete application to the International Office, marked “Application to the Erasmus+ call – staff”. Incomplete applications will be returned for completion.

The application form covers the details of the employee and of the mobility (host institution, country, duration), the justification of its relevance for the employee (contribution to professional development, the skills, knowledge and networks gained) and of its relevance for the institution (support for the AMEU strategy, inter-institutional cooperation, planned dissemination activities).

After your return

Within 14 days of completing your mobility, submit the documents below to the International Office. Only once they have been received will the Dance Academy calculate and pay out the eligible funds in accordance with the call and the rules of the Erasmus+ programme.

  1. Confirmation of Mobility, signed by the host institution.
  2. Supporting documents for the costs incurred in connection with the mobility.
  3. A completed online questionnaire, which you will receive at your email address from the Beneficiary Module reporting system once the mobility has ended.

The Dance Academy may require participants who fail to submit their report to repay part or all of the Erasmus+ grant they received.

After your return you are also required to disseminate the results of your mobility. The form of dissemination — a presentation within the department, an article, a workshop or another format — is agreed with the International Office or with the head of your unit or department.
