The original copy of the last education certificate (completed high school or university degree) with transcript of records
Table of contents of the programme/subjects (syllabus)

Candidates who would like that their non-formal acquired knowledge and skills be considered at admission into the program or as part of the study program in which they are already enrolled, must apply for the recognition of non-formal acquired knowledge and skills. The candidates must submit all documents necessary for recognition of prior acquired knowledge and skills.

The process is initiated at the request of the candidate who submits his/her application for recognition of prior learning in the Office for Student Affairs and attaches all the necessary documentation.

Candidates who would like to receive the Decision of the Commission for Student Affairs on the recognition of completed courses at other universities prior to their enrolment at Alma Mater, must, along the application form, submit a confirmation of payment of 200 € for expenses, as is mentioned in the price list for the current year. In case the candidate decides to enrol, this expenditure will be deducted from the first tuition fee instalment.

The candidates submit the application for recognition of ALL courses to be recognised during their study (not only for the courses of the year they are about to enrol in or are already enrolled in). Students’ applications will be considered only once, unless the student acquires new formal education during his/her study.

Recognition of foreign education

Every person who completed education out of Slovenia and wishes to continue his/her education in the Republic of Slovenia must acquire a Decision on the recognition of foreign education in order to continue education in the Republic of Slovenia. The recognition process of foreign education commences with an application to EVŠ. The process is carried out by an authorised person at the university/Academy where the candidate has applied to continue his/her studies.

The deadline to issue the formal Recognition of previous education is two months from the date of receiving the complete application.

On the basis of the Decision on recognition of formal and non-formal knowledge, the students may apply for a reduction of the tuition fee for the current year. The reduced tuition fee can be claimed by those who have received at least 20 ECTS in a given year. The Executive Board of Alma Mater has decided that the tuition fee is reduced by 30% if 20 ECTS – 30 ECTS are recognized in each year, or by 50% if 31 ECTS – 40 ECTS are recognised in each year. Only entirely recognised study obligations can lead to reduced tuition fee. The application for reduction of tuition fees has to be submitted no later than 8 days after receiving the Decision on the recognition of study obligations, otherwise the application will not be granted.

The Commission for Student Affairs will recognize knowledge, skills or abilities that, in terms of content and complexity correspond with the whole or in part to the general and/or subject-specific competences defined by the study program, on the basis of the statutory criteria (defined in the Higher Education Act, Ur.l.RS, No. 67/1993 with amendments and Criteria for Transitions between Study Programs, Official Gazette of RS, No. 95/2010).

The fundamental criterion for the recognition or non-recognition of knowledge acquired elsewhere with the courses, skills and abilities of the study program is equivalence of such knowledge.
