We live in a post-postmodern paradigm with many faces. Because of the covid-19 situation and life in physical isolation, one of them has become increasingly topical. Dr Alan Kirby named it digimodernism: whereas in postmodernism we read, watched and listened, in digimodernism we click, browse, download and use smartphones to record. We therefore devoted our dance section to dance and dance education in the digital environment. Our aim was to enable an academic insight into all the implications this new paradigm poses, and into all the possibilities and limitations the new era has brought to the art of dance. In the first part of this year’s conference we hosted two distinguished keynote speakers from the Royal Academy of Dance in London, Dr Michelle Groves and Dr Kathrina Farrugia-Kriel. Their presentations were followed by a panel discussion joined by guest speaker Jan Linkens from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

After the panel discussion we continued with a presentation of the journal of humanities and social sciences Monitor, XXIII/1. The latest issue, the first under a new editorial board, offered a thematic section devoted to contemporary dance and video and to the changes digitalisation has brought to a traditional art. Four dance-related texts were presented by their authors at the conference. The journal is available in print and online on our website and on the AMEU website under the title AMEU PRESS. In the third and fourth parts of the conference we continued with presentations on dance and the digital age, on dance mediation and on psychological and educational aspects of dance. Alongside me, the moderator was Rosana Hribar, Assistant Professor and head of the Department of Contemporary Dance
at our Dance Academy. This volume contains seven peer-reviewed contributions representing the main themes of the conference. The abstracts of the other participants in the dance section can be read in the Book of Abstracts of the 10th conference, available on the AMEU website.

Peer-reviewed proceedings of scientific and professional contributions on dance A message from the Dean of the Dance Academy, organiser and moderator of the dance section At the 10th annual conference All About People: Ethical challenges of digital transformation, held online from 11 to 18 March 2022, Alma Mater Europaea Dance Academy had its own dance […]

[25
post-15362","dogodek","type-dogodek","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","dogodek_kategorija-dance-and-science
["GET
